Is self-employment common in your country? Does the government encourage it?

In general self-employment is common in Russia. The goverment announces that it always encourage self-employment and pursues a supportive policy. But actually the conditions for small business don't allow to develop it. The main problems for self-employment in Russia are high taxes and bureaucracy.

I think that a charity is so important at the present time. There a lot of people around the world who want to help old, sick, poor people and children. Also a charity is popular among famous people: singers, actors and etc. And it so good when people provide a real help to others. I consider that a charity can save many lifes. 

I agree with you, Olga. Even in other countries, high taxes are imposed to big and small entrepreneurs and bureaucracy hinders the growth and spread of their businesses. That is why  those who aspire to become self-employed proprietors easily get discouraged.
